The Twitter Daily Poetry Project is a collaborative writing manifestation.

My most hated loathed phrase in the English language is “You’re a poet and you didn’t even know it.”

huh? Rhyming does not a poet make.

Anyhow that really has little to do with this whole debacle. The rules are simple.

Every morning at 6:00 a.m. a new first line is posted on Twitter.

Reply tweets build the poem through out the day, with minimal editing of spam and other things completely off topic.

The lines will end at 9:00 pm and be posted here in complete form.

If you are reading this line it means the project is quite new and needs help getting off the ground still….so please pick me up off the ground.
